Cheshta Wadhwa

Cheshta Wadhwa is currently employed at the Centre for Regional Trade under Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India as a Research Fellow. She has completed her Masters in Economics from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. During her Master’s programme she has interned with Industrial Financial Corporation of India (IFCI) and with Consumers India in which she carried out analysis on the product recall policies prevalent in India and compared it with policies of other geographies such as U.S.A., China and Australia. She has completed her Bachelors of Economics from University of Delhi, during which she conducted a structural analysis to understand the socio-economic condition of the elderly and created a statistically validated report, ‘Socio-economic study of the condition of the elderly in old-age homes of Delhi’, for presentation to a panel of Delhi University laureates as part of the Undergraduate Research Initiative of University of Delhi. Her field of interest includes international trade, regional economic integration, intra-industry trade and free trade agreements. Apart from economics, she believes in giving back to the society and has done various social work activities like teaching ‘Spoken English Programme’ for 100 days in an NGO. She is also a dramatist and has given over 30 public performances of the street play production of her college.
